to love, honour and betray |

(Till Divorce Us Do Part)
By Kathy Lette
Lucy’s been married for so long, her wedding certificate should be in hieroglyphics. When Jasper walks out after eighteen years, she panics.
What will she do about the vehicle maintenance, shifting heavy objects and Allen keys? Not to mention her rebellious teenage daughter Tally, who blames Lucy for the marital meltdown. Low self-esteem is hereditary: you get it from your kids.
While Tally’s busy trying to find a loophole in her birth certificate so she can put herself up for adoption, Lucy strives to accept that a child is for life and not just for Christmas. Could teenagers be God’s punishment for having sex in the first place?
Puberty blues has nothing on parental blues, as Lucy endeavours to become a surf life saver (a euphemism for organ donor) on Cronulla Beach. Will she ever learn to surf her brain waves?

WHAT WE THOUGHT
To Love, Honour and Betray is packed with humour, and I loved Kathy Lette’s witty writing style. The main character, Lucy, is easy to connect with and you will feel yourself cringing at the unfortunate circumstances she finds herself in.
This is the ultimate story of betrayal, the two people closest to her turn her life upside down and she is forced to recreate herself and everything she has ever known.
With two children in a new country – Lucy is from the UK and the story is based in Australia which will make it easy for Aussie readers to connect with, the depiction of our country is very accurate too…
There is nothing like characters transforming and evolving, and Lucy grows a lot throughout this novel.
You will laugh out loud while reading To Love, Honour and Obey, especially if you have ever dealt with a troublesome teenager or discovered a good friend was really a witch in disguise.
